All 3 types of Choices are confidential which means that all young people, regardless of age, who access them can be sure that nothing that they discuss with any staff member will be said to anyone – including parents, other family members, friends, or teachers unless there are concerns that the young person or others need to be protected from serious harm.

All staff working in Choices settings are well trained and will spend time speaking to each young person to explore that person’s level of knowledge and ability to make decisions about their own health. You can choose to see staff individually, in pairs or in groups – whatever you feel most comfortable with.

Choices is a service designed for young people and we therefore seek feedback from those who attend and from other groups of young people in the community in order to shape the services to best meet their needs.

The three types of Choices’ are labelled according to the services they provide.

Choices’ Advice & Support are staffed by Youth Workers.
Choices’ Health & Support
are staffed by Specialist Nurses, Midwives, Youth Workers and a GP.
Choices’ Sexual Health Advice & Treatment
are staffed by Sexual Health Consultants, Specialist Nurses, Youth Workers and GPs.
